Rockford Illinois Kitchen Addition

BEFORE
AFTER

This 1927 home’s kitchen was small and outdated, so we designed a seamless rear addition to nearly double its size—expanding from 210 to 400 square feet—while preserving the flow of the surrounding rooms. By utilizing the space under the second-story deck, we also created a cozy 124-square-foot cocktail room. Our team thoughtfully incorporated original architectural details, like dentil moulding, arched doorways, and a custom crown stack to reflect the home’s character. A double tray ceiling was designed to support a dramatic 4-foot chandelier, while the luxurious black-and-white palette is elevated with champagne bronze hardware, ebony-stained birch cabinetry by CWP, Cambria Bentley quartz countertops with a book-matched waterfall edge, and sleek Blanco porcelain tile. The result is a bold, elegant space that blends timeless charm with modern functionality.
